ALUMINE: located beside the river Alumine very near its birth in the lake of the same name this town of about 3,500 inhabitants is the center of a tourist area, cattleman and forest. In the mentioned lake the characteristic features of the southern mountain range begin: forests and lakes that occupy the traverse valleys. Alumine is not much more than 20 kilometers of the Pass of Icalma that communicates with Chile.
