El Bolson - Patagonia Argentina

EL BOLSON: 15,600 inhabitants' city located in the Southwest end of the Río Negro province. 130 kilometers to the south of San Carlos de Bariloche by the national route #258 and 180 kilometers to the north of Esquel (Chubut province) by the same route.
It was declared “ecological municipality” and “non nuclear area” by means of a local ordinance in 1984. In the decade of 1960 several groups of hippies settled in the area and they imposed with the course of the years a handmade fair that opens every weekend in the square of the city.
The valley of El Bolson inside the basin of the river Puelo has a microclimate that favors the production of fine fruits, vegetables and hop that together with the tourist services, they conform the economic activities of the region.
It is a place surrounded by lakes, mountains and rivers, ideal to develop activities like cavalcades, bicking, fishing, winter sports, rafting, trekking or simply to enjoy the temperate waters of the lake Puelo (a rarity in the lakes of the Patagonia), either swiming or practicing windsurf.
