From
Punta Arenas: toward the north by the route #9 there
are 254 kilometers by asphalted road. From El Calafate (Argentina): toward the east
by the provincial route #11 and then toward the south by the national
route #40 until the International Step Río Don Guillermo.
When entering Chile from Cerro Castillo take the route #9 toward
the south. The total of the journey is of 278 kilometers of which
the first 94 kilometers and the last 19 are asphalted. From Río Gallegos (Argentina): toward
the west by the national route #3 until the crossing with the
national route #40, by which it is necessary to continue until
the International Step Laurita Casas Viejas. Already in Chile
take the route #9 to travel the last 15 kilometers. Total of the
journey = 292 kilometers of which only the first 25 and the last
15 are asphalted.
