| Breakfast and transfer to the Pier to
get on board at approximately 8 am everyday during
summer
season. After sailing for about 15 minutes we will
arrive at Bories Port, and industrial place. One hour
later,
we will navigate Señoret Channel, Eberhard Fiord
and Ultima Esperanza. After two hours navigation from
Natales Port, under normal conditions, we will reach
“Cormoranes” Colony, having hundreds of
these birds, resembling penguins. As we get nearer
the
Fiord, the landscape becomes wilder and more attractive,
for its vigorous mountains. Now we have majestic Balmaceda
Mount before us, as well as the glacier bearing the
same name, being detached from the eastern side. This
mount is 2035 m high and there are very few antecedents
of its having been climbed up to its main peak. The
above mentioned glacier is in recession as nearly all
glaciers in the planet. After sailing for 4 hours,
we
will come alongside Puerto Toro pier; walking about
1000 m. you can get to the glacier on foot. Balmaceda
and Serrano glaciers belong to Balmaceda Mount National
Park. You can see the mountains of Paine from the
ship.
Return to Puerto Natales and end of navigation. Transfer
to hotel. More... |

| Places
to visit in the city |
• Frigorífico Bories. The ‘Sociedad Explotadora
de Tierra del Fuego’ built this industrial complex at the
beginning of the XX century to process the production of the ‘estancias’
(country properties) of the region. It had refrigerating cameras,
tanneries and wool laundries. It is very interesting to see the
design of the facilities that remain standing, as well as that of
their personnel's houses, of the purest English style.
• The ‘Plaza de Armas’, with the Parochial Church
and the Municipality to the front.
• The ‘estancias’ of the surroundings (country
properties). There are some estancias that offer aided visits to
be able to see the cattle activities, to savor typical foods or
simply to travel them by horse.
| To
the fjord 'De Las Montañas' |
The craft comes out from Puerto Natales toward the south. It travels
the channels Señoret and Valdés, it draws the step
Kirke and goes into the fiord ‘de las Montañas’.
A very narrow channel with direction south-north located among the
mountain range Sarmiento to the west and the mountain range Riesco
to the east. Therefore the panorama that is presented is spectacular,
since the sailing is carried out among hills, forest and snowdrifts.
