From
Laguna Amarga to Pehoe lake |

| the road runs for an open land among
the lakes Sarmiento and Nordenskjöld where it
is possible to cross with groups of gumps with their "chulengos"(little
gumps younger than one year) and in almost the whole
itinerary impressive views of the Paine
massif are obtained. In the kilometer 20 you arrive
at the
guard place Lago Pehoé, very near the refuge
Pudeto. From this refuge it departs a deluxe catamaran
for 70 people that crosses the lake Pehoé arriving
at the refuge Pehoé in the northwest end of
the lake. From Pudeto there is a path
that leads
to the Salto Grande (the second cascade of the river
Paine) and to the impressive mirador of the lake
Nordenskjöld. |

From
Pehoé lake to Lago Grey: |

| The road skirts the east coast of the
lake Pehoé, it passes in front of the island
where it is the hostel Pehoé and in the kilometer
30 arrive at the hotel Explora (5 stars), from
where there is a
path that will take you to the Salto Chico, which is
formed on the river Paine. The road continues
to
the
river
Paine, crossing it by a bridge before arriving
to CONAF Administration office. From this point
the road takes northwest address, it crosses the
river Grey and after travelling
18 kilometers
it arrives to Lago Grey hotel located very near
the guard place Lago Grey. From this place it leaves
a path that allow you to arrive at a beach on the
lake Grey in 25 minutes wher you'll see a lot of
floes that come
off
of
the
glacier Grey and concentrate in this area. This
glacier that is born in the South
Ice Field has 6 kilometers wide and its front
is divided by an island that appeared 50
years ago due to the ice retrieving. |
